Viridor's Cardiff incinerator development has now reached a critical stage. Pressure from Cardiff Against the Incinerator has forced Cardiff Council to comply with planning law by consulting local residents on the planning conditions.

You must respond to the consultation by 12 August 2012.

Campaigners from Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil and Newport protested today at the National Assembly of Wales today against Welsh Government sponsored incineration schemes. This comes against a background of council incompetence and incinerator bids collapsing.

In September 2011 the coalition government confirmed it would only electrify the Great Western main line between Cardiff and London by about 2017. They said that the business case did not support electrification to Swansea.

A Freedom of Information request by the South Wales Echo to South Wales Police revealed that in 2009, the most recent year available, 5,777 drivers were caught speeding by the Cardiff’s 21 fixed speed cameras.
