Clean British Energy Day of Action this Saturday

This Saturday, 13 October, at 1.30pm Cardiff Friends of the Earth will be queuing up at the Charles Street Job Centre, Cardiff to remind politicians that the green economy is working.

The Chancellor George Osborne is blocking the creation green jobs. He wants to increase carbon emissions and speed up climate change by giving billions of pounds in subsidies to his friends the shale gas industry instead.

Mini Opera - change of schedule

The mini operas will last about ten minutes and will be held at:

Environmental mini opera comes to Cardiff - Saturday, May 7th

Come and watch The Opera Group in any one of eight performances of their mini opera Save the Diva on the morning and afternoon of Saturday 7th May 2011 at different locations in Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay.

The mini opera is about a post climate change world visited by seven angels on a fact-finding mission. Cardiff Friends of the Earth will have a stall at each location with leaflets including information about main opera performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff in Cardiff on evening Monday 20th June 2011.

Just a quick note to let you know about a couple of exciting things going on:

Feed Cardiff -

On Saturday 9th October, Cardiff Food Alliance (a partnership between ourselves and the Cardiff Transition Project) will be offering shoppers in Cardiff City Centre a free, freshly cooked meal and some food for thought about making farming more sustainable.

Please come along and help shape our campaigns and activities for the next year. All supporters are welcome to attend and contribute to the discussions. Only paid-up members will be allowed to vote.

We will be discussing these and other campaign ideas at our Annual General Meeting on Saturday 18 September, from 11am – 4pm, in the Friends of the Earth Cymru office, 33, Castle Arcade Balcony, CF10 1BY.
