Millions of people in the UK breathe air full of dangerous gases and toxic particles. The Royal College of Physicians say that 40,000 deaths a year in the UK are linked to air pollution.

We all have the right to breathe safe air. It’s shocking how little the Government is doing. Dirty air regularly breaks the legal limits.

Cardiff currently has four areas where pollution levels break the legal limits. Air quality in many other areas in Cardiff is poor.

The Government says cities will have to wait 4 years for clean air. That means 160,000 unnecessary deaths - the population of Peterborough.

The solutions to cut air pollution are available:

  • Better buses
  • Scrappage schemes for polluting cars
  • Improvements in public transport
  • Better planning decisions
