Frack Barclays

Barclays fraclicious cocktail

Between 12pm and 4pm on 29 October Barclays Frackelicious Cocktail Bar will be open for business outside Barclays Bank, Working Street, Cardiff. It will serve a cocktail of fracking chemicals mixed with drinking water to members of the public.

Barclays Bank owns fracking company Third Energy. They recently got permission to frack in Rydale, North Yorkshire. If it goes ahead this would be the first fracking in the UK for over 5 years. Thousands of local people objected to the company's application but North Yorkshire Council approved the application.

Fracking:

  • threatens local water supplies
  • threatens people's health and homes
  • makes climate change worse.

Lancashire is also under threat from fracking firm Cuadrilla. Chemicals giant INEOS plan to make many fracking applications.

The day is being organised nationally by:

    • Friends of the Earth
    • People and Planet
    • 350.org
    • Move Your Money
    • SumOfUs
    • Frack Free Rydale.

    Take action

Join us on 29th and show the fracking companies that you don't want fracking in Rydale or anywhere else.
